Looking for an
Entlebucher Mountain Dog
Puppy?
So, you met an Entlebucher somewhere - maybe in a book or in person - and now you think this might be a great next dog for your family.

Entlebuchers are fantastic dogs - athletic, biddable, easy to train, medium sized, just 50 lbs and 21", low prey drive, good with cats, other dogs and children. They are however, very strong and will pull on the leash if they are not trained properly. And they can become a high energy wrecking ball without adequate exercise.

Next steps:
-
Find several Entlebuchers to go and meet, play with them, visit their homes and chat with their owners. Learn what day to day life is like for their family and consider if they are still the right fit for you. Nemda maintains a listing of owners and can arrange a visit near you. Just make an inquiry at www.nemda.org or any of their BCOE breeders.
-
Find a reputable breeder (or a few), and put your name on their puppy list. This is a rare breed and sometimes you might have to wait longer than a year for your puppy. Check our 'Puppy Plans' at this link and complete an application if we seem like the right fit.
-
Learn about the breed and breeding these wonderful dogs. Breeding can be a lot of work but it brings immeasurable joy and rewards for you and insures the breed's survival. Current regulations limit the import of young puppies into North America, so our breeding stock is limited. If you can commit to breeding your dog, even just once, you could make a big contribution to the breed. With a male, that is particularly easy! But even with a female, it is very manageable if you have support.
